A Case Study: Cromlix House Hotel
Cromlix is owned by Kim and Andy Murray. Nestled in the scenic Scottish countryside by Dunblane in Stirlingshire, the hotel is located in 34 acres of woodlands and gardens with its own chapel and loch. Cromlix offers 15 bedrooms plus a Gateside Lodge, The Glasshouse Restaurant, Cocktail Bar, Drawing Room and several beautiful private dining rooms. Future additions include new woodland lodges, a new restaurant and small wellness cottage.
The objectives were to carry out a feasibility study for future development options to add to the estate, to remove the hotel management company and to bring the running of the hotel back in house, to recruit a new senior team, to reposition the hotel as a destination boutique country house hotel, and to implement and oversee marketing plans and drive further commercial development.
Successfully project managed a period of transformational change over a two-year period, working with both the in-house team and a wide range of suppliers to create the new Cromlix. The hotel now represents a beautifully reimagined boutique country house and won Independent Hotel of The Year, Scottish Excellence Awards 2024.
“Rosemary was brought on board as a consultant to oversee Cromlix’s transition from being run by a hotel management company to being self-managed. This included establishing new systems and procedures, recruiting a new senior management team and being key part of a rebrand of Cromlix. She has been a total pleasure to work with throughout this process. She has added an invaluable dimension to this exciting project. As a Non-Exec Board Director of Cromlix I welcome what I’m sure will be her on going participation".
